Trafft vs Amelia: hosted booking or a WordPress plugin, with Booknetic

Last reviewed October 8, 2026

Quick answerPick Trafft if you want booking hosted for you, with a Free plan. Pick Amelia, from the same company, or Booknetic if booking must run inside your own WordPress site.

Trafft vs Amelia: the short answer

Trafft is hosted booking software with a Free plan, and Amelia, from the same company, is a WordPress plugin sold as a yearly or lifetime license. Trafft Mini is $9.99 a month, billed monthly, with 3 users included, and Amelia Starter is $49 a year for 1 domain, as read on October 8, 2026. Because Amelia comes from the same company as Trafft, this compares what each is, not a rival's verdict.

A domain is a website address a license covers. Booknetic, a separate WordPress plugin, is in the table as a second plugin option.

Hosted service or WordPress plugin: where each one runs

Trafft hosts the booking website for you on every plan, and it also offers a free WordPress plugin that puts its booking form on a WordPress page. Amelia and Booknetic work the other way round: they install inside your own WordPress site, and Amelia's Resources are managed from the WordPress dashboard.

Each plugin is licensed by number of websites. Amelia Starter and Standard cover 1 domain, Pro 1 or 5, and Elite 20 or unlimited; Booknetic Basic covers 1 site. If you only need Trafft's form on a WordPress page, the Trafft WordPress plugin works on every plan, Free included.

Prices: monthly plans against yearly licenses

Trafft is priced per month with users included: Mini is $9.99 a month, billed monthly, or $7.99 a month, billed annually, which Trafft's price data puts at $95.88 a year. Amelia is priced per year or once: Starter is $49 a year, Standard is $99 a year and Standard Lifetime is $299 once, from Amelia's checkout price list. Amelia's Pro and Elite prices were not read in dollars, so none is given.

Booknetic Basic is shown at $45 a year against a list price of $89, and Standard at $99 a year against $199. Its page does not say whether the reduced price applies at renewal.

Compare yearly figures: $95.88 a year for Trafft Mini against $49 a year for Amelia Starter. Mini covers 3 users and 3 locations in a hosted account; Starter covers 1 domain.

Free versions, trials and refunds

Trafft has a Free plan for 1 user and a 14-day trial of its paid features. Its own 30-day money-back guarantee comes with a Terms of Use caveat set out on Trafft pricing.

Amelia sells no free trial. It has a 15-day money-back guarantee for new subscriptions and a free limited version on WordPress.org. Booknetic offers a free version and a 14-day money-back guarantee.

Rooms, equipment and group bookings

Amelia's Resources, for rooms, equipment or vehicles, are in its Pro and Elite licenses only, and its documentation says they apply to appointments, not to events. A client cannot pick a particular room or chair; resources only decide which slots show. Trafft's Resource Management starts on Professional, $49.99 a month, billed monthly, with 15 users included.

Both count a resource's quantity the same three ways: shared across everything, per service or per location. Booknetic lists group appointments, recurring appointments and Google Calendar two-way sync; no Booknetic page read documents shared rooms or equipment. Trafft's group bookings start on Mini.

Who should pick Trafft, Amelia or Booknetic

  • Trafft when booking should be hosted for you, with a Free plan to start; what is Trafft lists the plans.
  • Amelia, from the same company, when booking must run inside your own WordPress site and you accept a yearly license. Its limits are no free trial and Resources starting on Pro.
  • Booknetic for a WordPress site that wants a plugin with a free version to try first.
